Luis Herrera - Luis is a chef specialized in Venezuelan cuisine with extensive knowledge and experience in Mexican cuisine as well. He’s worked at Chef Carlos Garcia's Alto Restaurant, considered the best restaurant in Venezuela. Then at Cosme, award-winning Mexican Chef Enrique Olvera's restaurant in New York City, since it’s opening in October 2014 up until September 2017. Luis started as a prep cook and moved his way up to become a sous chef within the year and later the kitchen manager. Cosme was Voted New York Times "Best Restaurant in NYC 2015" and awarded 25th best Restaurant in the world on "The World's 50 Best" list in 2018. At the moment Luis is doing consulting work, pop-up dinners and showcasing Venezuelan flavors throughout New York City. He also works as a tournant at Blanca Restaurant in Brooklyn, awarded 2 Michelin stars. He holds a BA in Mechanical Engineer and completed a culinary school where he specialized in Venezuelan Cuisine.
